With candy canes and silver lanes that glow...

Christmas came and went. The lead up was was enticing, decorating the tree and the house, twinkling lights everywhere you go, frantic gift buying sprees...but as soon as Christmas ends, we are left with a certain melancholy feel and a hole in our stomachs (which hours before had been filled with glorious holiday food).

I do love Christmas. This year was a special year too, as we welcomed Bella into the mix of the typical family shennanigans. So as we decorated the tree, we blasted our Michael Bublé Christmas Deluxe album, interlaced with some occasional originals from Eartha Kitt or Bing Crosby...and Mariah Carey. I mean, who can't celebrate Christmas without "All I Want for Christmas is You"?

One by one our guests arrive, the wheels of their cars crunching on the gravel as they drive up the driveway and past the gated entrance. Bella and I only have one thought on our minds. Who will hold the newest addition to the family (a 6 month old baby girl) first. Oh the priorities.

The meal was fantastic, if you were wondering...Champagne, Oysters, foie gras, sweet potato and celeriac mash, a huge roasted capon, red wine and of course, a Christmas log. We decided to go all out this year, so we got a lemon log and a chocolate one (high rollers we are...).

I hope you all enjoyed this holiday season and I'll see you at my next destination, Italy.

All my love,
Margot Ana xx
